The United States Holocaust Memorial Museum is a federally chartered, nonpartisan institution that was created by the US Congress to serve as America’s national memorial to the victims of the Holocaust and an educational institution dedicated to the history and lessons of the Holocaust. The Museum seeks to educate Americans from all 50 states and all walks of life as well as international audiences. The Museum has three areas of expertise: Holocaust remembrance, Holocaust scholarship and education, and genocide prevention.

Duties include:

Serves as an Engineering Technician and Computer Assisted Design and Drawing (CADD) Administrator, with responsibility for providing technical engineering expertise on a variety of Museum projects

Reviews shop drawings submitted for approval by contractors and recommends approval or disapproval.

Prepares contract documents to include detailed statements of work, plans, specifications, requests for proposals, cost estimates, and budgets for moderately complex construction, maintenance, and repair projects.

Manages selected architectural & engineering (A&E) and construction indefinite delivery indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contracts.

Maintains master set of as-built drawings; coordinates with all project managers to ensure all new work is reflected on master drawings.

Serves as COR for drafting firms that provide assistance in maintaining and updating building plans and blueprints for all Museum facilities.

Qualifications

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: You qualify for the GS-12 grade level if you possess one year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-11 (or equivalent) grade level in the Federal government, performing the following duties: Preparing contract documents to include detailed statements of work, plans, specifications, requests for proposals, cost estimates, and budgets for moderately complex construction, maintenance, and repair projects; reviews shop drawings submitted for approval by contractors and recommends approval or disapproval; performing duties as Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR), serving as project manager (PM) for construction and renovation projects; and manages the Auto/ Computer Assisted Design and Drawing (CADD) system including software, hardware, access, and security issues.
