Duties

Help

Provides direct assistance to the eDiscovery Program Manager by providing a combination of administrative, analytical, technical, and information systems management services within the Office of the Chief Counsel, Office of Operations and Litigation Support (AGC-10). Duties include, but are not limited to: supporting the agency’s litigation hold process and data preservation requirements by compiling and analyzing regular, recurring litigation hold reports for AGC practice area managers depicting legal cases, associated litigation holds, and custodian response statuses; monitoring the AGC eDiscovery mailbox and request workflow; responding to questions concerning FAA's electronically stored information (ESI) and eDiscovery processes; reviewing new eDiscovery requests for accuracy and completeness; and serving as a backup approver for attorney data requests.

As needed, assists the practice areas and legal support staff to utilize the Nuix Discovery document review platform by performing searches, preparing for production exports based on specific tagging criteria, and running quality control checks prior to submitting production requests.

Supports the agency’s employee offboarding process and document destruction procedures by evaluating data to determine whether it should be retained for legal hold preservation purposes.

Regularly assesses the efficiency and effectiveness of AGC's eDiscovery program activities, and puts systems in place to address any weaknesses , and strengthen the eDiscovery program and workflow process to support accountability and transparency initiatives.

Maintains and adheres to the confidential nature of work performed within a legal environment, including protection of personally identifiable information (PII) and protection of documentation and information subject to attorney-client and attorney work product privileges.

Uses Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe software, and variety of other software types to accomplish work-related tasks to organize, store, and create, and retrieve a variety of documentation types, and to design and produce reports. Accurately establishes and maintains both electronic and hard-copy records.

Develops and delivers training to educate AGC staff on all aspects of the eDiscovery program. Participates in training relevant to the work performed and the mission and goals of the organization.

As needed, provides administrative, analytical, and/or technical support for the full compliment of organizational program activities that fall under the purview of the Office of the Chief Counsel, Office of Operations and Legal Support (AGC-10).

The incumbent will perform multiple and varying assignments under the limited direction of a manager, project/program manager, team leader, or more experienced professional and will apply experience and advanced knowledge of the eDiscovery program processes and procedures to plan and accomplish assignments. Demonstrates considerable independence in planning time, assisting others, establishing priorities, and using assigned resources to accomplish projects and activities in a timely and efficient manner.

Established policies/procedures provide guidance for most assignments, but allow considerable discretion for employee to select the most appropriate approach(es) or recommend new approaches. Assignments often require reviews of policies and precedents under the limited guidance of a manager or other employee.

Work is reviewed periodically, typically at major milestones and at completion to ensure policy compliance and alignment with the agency and organizational requirements.

Qualifications

To qualify for this position, you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the (FG/GS-11/FV-G) level. This experience is typically related to the line of work of the position to be filled and which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been at least equivalent to the next lower level in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization.

Specialized experience is defined as:

  • Experience coordinating and providing litigation support services for eDiscovery requests within a professional legal environment.

  • Washington, DC: $83,430 - $129,323 (33.26% - Washington, DC)
  • Kansas City, MO: $74,283 - $115,145 (18.65% - Kansas City, MO)
  • Oklahoma City, OK: $73,137 - $113,369 (16.82% - Rest of the U.S.)
  • Atlantic City, NJ: $80,481 - $124,753 (28.55% - Philadelphia, PA)
