Duties

Help

-- Establishes short and long-range plans and schedules for periodic maintenance of complex electronics equipment such as HF, UHF, VHF, Trop scatter and wide band complex radios; powered support systems, automotive equipment, and air conditioning equipment; and TACAN andground approved radar. Establishes schedules in accordance with AirForce requirements for inspection and periodic maintenance. Updatesschedules daily to accommodate priorities that may arise.

-- Establishes priorities on a daily basis for repair of various complex equipment or components having a high priority and whose malfunctions would prevent a mission essential operation. Assigns priorities to work by directing that previously scheduled work be set aside and higher priority work performed as quickly as possible.

-- Prepares the Status of Resource and Training (SORTS) report indicating degree of readiness of mobilization teams. The report indicates the level of personnel training as well as the condition of equipment so that readiness of the unit for mobilization can be determined.

-- Serves as the Unit Data Base Coordinator for the Core Automated Maintenance System (CAMS), which serves as the automated data collection and information retrieval system that provides an on-line method for recording base-level maintenance actions for Maintenance Data Collection (MDC). Utilizing CAMS, responsible for communications electronics equipment status and inventory reporting, maintenance events, job data documentation, inspection and time changes, process transactions, requisitioning parts, training, etc.-- Maintains records of maintenance work performed. Prepares maintenance work analysis indicating the amount of time used to repair various types of equipment. Uses this information to determine where various types of training should be given. Forwards the status report to the Maintenance Chief and Detachment Commander.

-- Assures that Test, Measurement, and Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE)calibrations are accomplished. Maintains records of fuel used.

-- May authorize the cannibalization of equipment when parts are neededfor high priority repair jobs. Maintains records to assure that cannibalized parts are returned to the original equipment. Arranges for shipment of turn-in items.

-- May install, maintain, or provide technical support for distributive data processing systems, such as local (LAN) and wide area networks (WAN).

-- Performs other duties as required.

  • May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
  • Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
  • May occasionally be required to work other than normal duty hours; overtime may be required.
