Summary

This position is located at US Mint,MINT- West Point - Plant Manager - Plant Engineering Maint Section. As a Supervisory Electronic Industrial Controls Mechanic, you will supervise the installation, modification, maintenance, repair and upkeep of the Mint building, grounds, mechanical and electrical systems, utilities, machinery and equipment to insure continuous operating capability in support of Mint programs and planned production schedules.

Duties

Help

As a Supervisory Electronic Industrial Controls Mechanic, you will:

  • Provide direct supervision in accomplishing and controlling work operations involving approximately 8-10 subordinate workers. Work involves the supervision of the installation, modification, maintenance, repair and upkeep of the building, outbuilding, warehouse, offsite warehouse, grounds, electronic, mechanical, electrical systems, utilities, machinery and equipment to insure continuous operation capability in support of programs and planned production schedules.
  • Plan the use of subordinate workers, equipment, facilities, computerized systems and materials on a month-to-month basis; establishes deadlines, priorities and work sequences and plans work assignments based on general work schedules, methods and policies set by higher level supervisors.
  • Investigates work related problems and issues, such as excessive costs, low productivity and determines causes; takes corrective actions within authority to resolve issues/problems; and recommends solutions to staffing problems, engineering requirements and work operations directed by higher-level or other supervisors.

  • Shift Work: This facility operates on a 24 hour per day, three-shift basis, 5 days a week. Work schedules may vary and assignment to a specific shift cannot be guaranteed. The successful applicant must be available to work on all three shifts on a rotational basis.
  • May be required to wear safety clothing and/or equipment required by the position. This may include safety shoes, hard hats, hearing protection, gloves, masks, etc.
  • Pass a pre-employment physical examination.
