Plans, organizes, and directs the activities of the Youth Center, ensuring that all Youth Programs comply with legal and regulatory requirements and meets customer needs. Serves as Youth Director providing leadership and guidance for a diversified educational and recreational program to include but not limited to: leadership and service programs, education and science, technology, engineering, and math programs, health and wellness, arts, career development, informal sports fitness and recreation, league youth sports program, school-age programs, and youth transition programs. Directs, plans, develops, promotes, executes and evaluates youth programs and services which include management and operation of a teen center (if applicable), an accredited school age care program, sports and fitness program, single-day, overnight, and extended field trips and tours, swimming, social events, crafts, music, self- directed activities, instructional classes, recreational and leisure activities, teen and preteen councils and clubs, youth sponsorship programs, summer day camp, and logistic support for out-of-town and out-of-country visiting youth organizations. Determines requirements for program equipment and materials. Maintains national accreditation for school age care. Reports and documents suspected child abuse or neglect in a timely manner to Family Advocacy Officer, Child and Youth Services Flight Chief, Child Protective Services (if applicable) and Air Force Services Center/Youth Program (AFSVC/SVPY). Establishes, revises, or reviews policies, procedures, mission objectives, and organization design for the staff, as necessary to eliminate work problems or barriers to mission accomplishment, promote team building, implement quality improvements, or in response to concerns with regulatory compliance and/or customer requirements.

| QUALIFICATIONS A bachelor of science/art degree that included a major study in child or youth development/education or a related field (ie., youth recreation, elementary/early childhood education, physical education (K-6), music education (K-6), art education (K-6), human or family services/development, psychology, social work, guidance and counseling, home economics); or, a combination of education and experience - courses equivalent to a major in child or youth development/education or a related field, plus appropriate experience or additional course work that provided knowledge comparable to that normally acquired through the successful completion of the 4-year course of study described above. In addition, candidate must possess the following: Extensive knowledge of the Military Child Care Act, DoD and Air Force policies; United States Department of Agriculture food program; accreditation requirement of the Council of Accreditation; experience working with regulatory, personnel, funding and budgeting proponents; Experience in training adults and working effectively with command staff, professional staff, and parents; Ability to plan and organize work, analyze problems to identify significant factors, gather pertinent data and recognize solutions; Comprehensive oral communication and analytical writing skills. Ability to present ideas and proposals to a variety of audiences; Demonstrated ability in standard office software such as word processing, graphics presentations, spreadsheets, and email. All required background checks in accordance with AF policy and the Crime Control Act must be successfully completed, maintained, including Child Care Tier 1, pre-employment physical, and food handler's certification.
