Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Works under the supervision of the Event Center Director to implement higher level directives; makes recommendations for improved food and beverage service and general operations; develops limited time offers to increase revenue and move product. Assists with the development of the annual budget and financial planning to include sales, programs, and capital requirements.
  • Responsible for workforce management, recruitment, staff training, and the entire spectrum of personnel management duties. Trains subordinate employees in food preparation and presentation for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and bar operations.
  • Tracks labor, food/beverage and inventory costs in the food and beverage operations making necessary adjustments to meet budget goals.
  • Reviews and evaluates sources used for purchase of supplies, equipment, and resale merchandise; established new or varied sources for improved selection to better meet changing customer demands. Ensures food and bar cost cards are maintained and updated quarterly.
  • Takes corrective action when food and beverage cost exceed established goals. Ensures adequate inventory levels of all items needed for food and beverage operations arc maintained. Monitors public health requirements and ensure compliance with all the Air Force health and sanitation requirements.
  • Ensures proper military and civilian protocol are always followed. Prepares and serves a variety of hot and cold meals by selecting proper ingredients and following set recipes, when needed.
  • Receives payment, operates cash register, makes change, and follows required procedures for cash funds accountability. Operates dishwasher and performs cleaning tasks as required in the work area.
  • Unloads stock from delivery trucks. May operate one or more motor vehicles to include: light trucks, sedans and 15 passenger vans weighing up to 10,000 pounds Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifying Experience:
Must have experience which provides knowledge of restaurant or beverage operation and responsible experience related to management aspects of food, beverage or hospitality services which demonstrated ability to perform duties of the position. Experience must include responsibility or supervision over various phases of food and beverage management. Must have experience with cash and making change when receiving payments. Must be able to frequently lift or move objects weighing up to 40 pounds. Must be able to continuously stand and walk and frequently stoop, reach, push, pull and bend for a long period of time.

Education

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution.

FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program.
