Duties

Help
  • Sets and meets organizational goals for the performance of division wide operational objectives.
  • Resolves controversial, unconventional, or novel problems by making decisions with limited or no guidance.
  • Directs the design of IMT, PME, and functional courses and materials, which require developing, rewriting, adaptations, or extensions of available guides and established procedures.
  • Interprets broad and general policy and precedent when available and makes decisions to deviate from normal procedure, as required. Develops new methods, procedures, and policies to build organizational synergy and maximize limited resources.
  • Leads the design of complicated components of instructional design (e.g., sequencing and clustering of learning events and objectives, task learning relationships, and instructional design plans).
  • Serves as a civilian deputy to the Cyber School’s Training Development division chief.
  • Recommends disciplinary action in more serious cases. Identifies developmental and training needs of employees and provides or makes provision for needed development and training. Approves attendance and leave in ATAAPS.
  • Establishes design criteria and develops new approaches, methods, or techniques for subordinates to execute.
  • Plans and conducts validity and reliability studies and surveys of training courses over a broad specialty area or cluster of courses.

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Three year trial/probationary period may be required.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain TOP SECRET eligibility with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI).
  • This position is covered by the Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program.
  • The incumbent is required to sign a DA Form 5019-R and must pass urinalysis testing, as required, prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
  • Temporary Duty (TDY) Travel may be required up to 20 percent of the time.
  • Financial disclosure is required for this position. Incumbent is required to submit a Financial Disclosure Statement
  • A one-year supervisory probation is required to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties.

This position is in the Supervision/Management Work Category at the Senior Work Level within the CES Occupational Structure.

To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe one-year of specialized experience that demonstrates the possession of knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Such experience is typically in or directly related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized experience would be demonstrated by 1) Maintaining the instructional design and development policy and procedures to ensure accurate course content by subordinates 2) Gathering data to determine decisions regarding program and technological change and conflicting requirements 3) Providing advisory services to accomplish budget creation and execution and other civilian personnel management programs and 4) Managing the development of training materials through the analysis of educational or instructional problems or questions.
