Summary

This position is in the Cyber Excepted Service in the Supervision/Management Work Category at the Expert Work Level within the CES Occupational Structure. It is located in the DISA, Host and Compute Center, Cloud Engineering Division.

This is a FULL TIME TELEWORK position. You must reside in the local commuting area. Locations are:
Montgomery, AL; Denver, CO; Fort Meade, MD; Columbus, OH; Tinker AFB, OK; Chambersburg, PA; Mechanicsburg, PA; San Antonio, TX; Hill AFB, UT and Arlington, VA.

Help
  • Supervises civilian personnel, ranging in grade up to GS-15 and military personnel up to 0-6. Also directs a number of professional and technical contractor personnel.
  • Assigns work based on project priorities, work difficulty, and employee ability.
  • Plans, organizes, develops and implement security solutions and performs studies, analyses and evaluations of the information systems, associated information assurance plans, programs, projects, networks, policies, and procedures.
  • Monitors acquisition and budget execution to insure fiscally responsible usage of funds. Supports the User Engagement Group for stakeholder outreach activities.
  • Oversees multiple projects executed by subordinate project or team leaders, and provides technical guidance to assure optimal outcomes for services and solutions.

  • This position is subject to Cyber Workforce requirements as defined by the DoD 8140 policy series for the position's required CYBER Work Role(s).
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain access to classified information and eligibility to have the appropriate security clearance as a condition of employment. May be subject to initial and random drug testing for this position, if applicable.
  • This position requires a Financial Disclosure Statement, OGE-450 Executive Branch Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, upon entering the position and annually thereafter, in accordance with DoD 5500.07-R, Joint Ethics Regulation (JER).

Qualifications

In order to qualify for this position, you must meet the requirements described below.

Qualifying Experience:
To qualify at the GG-15, your resume must describe at least one year of experience that demonstrates the competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Experience refers to any paid or unpaid experience, including volunteer work and Military service, that would be considered equivalent to work normally performed at the next lower grade level in the federal service.

For this position, qualifying experience is defined as: Advising senior leaders on technical and security matters at an enterprise level for an entire Component(s), architecting and leading the implementation of approved enterprise security solutions for commercial cloud technology at unclassified and classified levels, advising on the avoidance and remediation of significant network security vulnerabilities, and supervising civilian and military engineering and IT security personnel.

Candidates must describe how they meet the qualifying experience and/or selective placement factor(s) within the body of their resume. All qualifications must be met within 30 days after the closing date of this announcement.

Education

There is no substitution of education for the qualifying experience at the GG-15 grade level.

  • This position is in the Excepted Service and does NOT convey eligibility to be converted to the Competitive Service. It is being recruited under 10 U.S.C. 1599f into the Cyber Excepted Service (CES) personnel system.
  • If you are a current Federal Career/Career-Conditional employee, you will be placed on an Excepted appointment.
  • This appointment does not confer eligibility to be non-competitively converted to an appointment in the competitive service.
  • A three year trial period may be required if you have not previously completed a trial or probationary period in the excepted or competitive service.
  • This position is subject to completion of 1 year probationary period for assignment to a supervisory position.
  • Individuals tentatively selected for drug testing designated positions at the Defense Information Systems Agency will be required to submit to urinalysis for illegal drugs prior to appointment or placement.
  • We may use this announcement to fill additional vacancies within 90 days of the closing date.
  • Salary will be adjusted to meet the locality pay of the duty location upon selection.
