Duties

Help
  • You will plan, coordinate, and/or evaluate the product support actions required to support a specified mission, weapons system, or other designated program.
  • You will manage the package of support functions required to field and maintain the readiness and operational capability of major weapon systems, subsystems, and components.
  • You will utilize predictive analysis and modeling tools to define and/or improve product support.
  • You will develop and implement comprehensive product support strategies integrating the separate functions of design to cost, product support analyses, maintenance planning, provisioning, sustainment, modernization, and readiness.
  • You will develop updates to manning documentation and plans.
  • You will perform and oversee training analyses to include requirements assessments for new/modified systems and the analysis and development of new/modified training devices.
  • You will demonstrate knowledge and experience in Navy acquisition, Integrated Product Support (IPS), and submarine sustainment, to include regulations, policies, processes, budget management, Information Technology (IT) systems, and techniques.

  • This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the pay band NH-02 (GS-11 Equivalent) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: performing logistics management operations that involve planning, coordinating, or evaluating the logistical actions required to support the maintenance or modernization of ship systems, weapon systems, or in a shipyard environment.

This announcement uses the DHA for Acq Demo Business & Technical Mgmt direct hire authority to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

This position is part of the Department of Defense Civilian Acquisition Workforce Personnel Demonstration Project. The NH-3 broadband level encompasses positions equivalent to GS-12 and GS-13.

This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program.
