Summary

This position is located at the Unaccompanied Housing operation at NAS Lemoore. The purpose of this position is to perform facilities maintenance work involving two or more of the skilled trades. Duties

Help

  • The incumbent is responsible for a variety of semi-skilled and unskilled tasks involving standard methods related to the operation and maintenance of physical plant facilities.
  • Performs work in at least 2 or more of the following trades requiring a higher level of skill than NA-4749-07 in the maintenance and repair of buildings and related fixtures or having significant emphasis in one of the higher-level licensed trades. Electrical, Heating, Ventilation and Cooling or Plumbing.
  • Maintains work order log and follow up as required.
  • Logs trouble calls with contractor as appropriate.
  • Makes basic plumbing repairs to sinks, faucets, commodes, tanks, urinals, P-traps, shut off valves on washing machines and water supply that can be accomplished by removing, cleaning, resealing, replacing defective parts or units, installing water heaters, garbage disposals, faucets and sinks.
  • Recognize the cause of faulty equipment and make repairs on a variety of HVAC units as appropriate.
  • Recognize and report electrical problems.
  • Measure, cut and construct or repair wood or wood substitute items.
  • Preparation of areas and standard coating methods such as brushing, rolling, and spraying to ensure surfaces are fully coated, protected and free from drips and runs.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Must have ability to perform moderately strenuous physical labor as unassisted lifting, moving and carrying of supplies and equipment weighing up to 45 lbs (100 lbs assisted)

Qualifications

A qualified candidate must possess:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience with demonstrated skill in two areas (Carpentry, Plumbing, HVAC, Electrical, Painting).
  • Knowledge of safety and environmental rules and regulations concerning procedures, tools, mechanical and electrified equipment, commonly used chemicals and basic safe work practices is required.
  • Must possess a welcoming manner and positive attitude and demonstrate effective communication skills.
  • Provide assistance in handling customer complaints, involving management as necessary.
