Duties

Help

Assists in planning the use of workers, equipment, facilities, materials, and tools needed to accomplish the work. Accountable to management for the quantity and quality of work performed and for ensuring efficient and economical operations. Assist with plans, schedules and coordinates work operations while adhering to work priorities, project schedules, and resources. Assist with analyzing financial results maintaining solid financial condition of the facility. Manages real property and provides expert advice on improvements. Trains, assigns, directs, and reviews the work of subordinates. Observes work in progress resolving problems and adjusting as necessary to meet schedules. Inspects completed work for quantity and quality of work performed. Explains and gains the support of subordinates for management policy, programs, and goals. Supports the objectives of AF-wide programs and policies such as labor-management relations and equal employment opportunity. Advises and counsels subordinates on improving performance; maintains up to date employee training records. Ensures safety and maintenance practices and policies are observed and followed. When workload or situation demands, may assist parts supply management operations or other duties as assigned.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

Qualifying Experience:
Should have progressively responsible administrative, professional, technical, or other work which has provided a general knowledge of management principles and business practices. Experience should be at a sufficient level to ensure knowledge of how and why tasks are performed to ensure work is performed efficiently and effectively. Must be able to frequently lift and carry objects weighing up to 40 pounds, and occasionally objects weighing over 50 pounds. Successful completion and favorable adjudication of applicable background investigation (Tier 1 Level) is required. Satisfactorily complete a pre-employment physical is required.

Education

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution.

FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.
