Duties

Help

Responsible for carrying out the full range of new equity investments and undertake all tasks required to process transactions from initial screening through due diligence, negotiating and structuring, approval, documentation, closing and funding.

Manage in-depth analyses of direct equity proposals to determine their market, competitive, business, and financial viability, including review of financial statements, proforma financial models and valuation analyses.

Lead preparation of investment memos by synthesizing due diligence analysis to present potential investments to various committees for approval.

Creates financial models, valuation analyses, and conducts sensitivity analyses as part of the due diligence process to test investment assumptions and key economic drivers.

Performs in-depth analyses of country related macroeconomic and microeconomic risks; risks related to project contractual obligations; the eligibility, financial standing, and business background of the company.

Support negotiation with interested parties on DFC investment terms and agreements, including coordinating on project financial plans and agreements, with other development finance institutions, private equity and venture capital firms, and other commercial institutions.

Provides the department with in-depth direct equity investment procedural expertise, participating in interdepartmental and external activities, if needed, and advise on the DFC's direct equity programs and other financing programs and initiatives.

Qualifications

Applicants must meet all eligibility and qualification requirements no later than the closing date of this announcement.

You may qualify at the GS-13 level, if you fulfill the following qualification requirements:
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service that includes at least 3 of the following:

1. Experience performing direct equity investing, which will include venture capital, private equity, and/or investment banking;
2. Experience conducting financial modeling, valuation and sensitivity analysis on equity investment opportunities;
3. Experience preparing and presenting investment memos;
4. Experience conducting due diligence (i.e. reviewing financial statements, analyzing market/competitive trends, and/or identifying risks) and processing transactions through internal approvals;
5. Experience providing input into equity term sheets and/or other transaction related documents.

You may qualify at the GS-14 level, if you fulfill the following qualification requirements:
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service that includes at least 4 of the following:

1. Experience performing direct equity investing, which will include venture capital and/or private equity;
2. Experience conducting and managing financial modeling, valuation, and sensitivity analysis on equity investment opportunities;
3. Experience preparing investment memos and presenting and defending to internal and external parties;
4. Experience leading due diligence (i.e. setting due diligence scope, managing timelines, analyzing data, and/or coordinating team members) and making investment recommendations;
5. Experience developing and negotiating equity term sheets and other transaction related documents;
6. Experience with investments in health, agribusiness, food, pharmaceuticals, financial services, and/or food warehousing/logistics.

Note: Education is not substitutional at this grade level.
