Duties

Help

The Management and Program Analyst position within the Office of Inspector General (OIG), Office of Mission Support is responsible for providing and executing a full range of analytical, administrative, budgetary, program, policy, and operational support for the Office of Inspector General (OIG).

  • Supporting OIG with full budget life cycle (planning, formulation, presentation, and execution) by processing procurement requests.
  • Developing modifications, revisions, and implementing procedures to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of program operations and financial management processes within the OIG.
  • Serving as the point of contact for timekeeping, training, commuter benefits, government purchases and other administrative programs.
  • Performing accounts payable and other accounts receivable functions for payments, invoicing, and collections.
  • Providing technical assistance and use accounting software to research, compile, analyze and present financial information in reports for use in management decision making.
  • Serve as Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) on a variety of contracts, agreements, and GSA work authorizations for the organization.

Qualifications

AmeriCorps uses an experience-based process to set pay for employees. Experience is evaluated and credited using the employee's résumé. Please ensure that your résumé covers all of your prior work experience (e.g., internships, volunteer work, details, part-time, self-employment, secondary jobs, etc.) so that it can be considered and accounted for.

To qualify at the low range of the NY-3/GS-12 level or equivalent, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience at the next to lower pay band/ grade level GS-11 or equivalent under other pay systems. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.

Your resume must demonstrate that you have one year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to successfully perform the duties of the position, in either federal or non-federal service performing two (2) out of three (3) of the following duties or work assignments:

  • Executing financial management by tracking and maintaining the full lifecycle of a budget.
  • Conducting procurement activities (i.e. purchase card transactions, vendor negotiations, developing justifications for acquisitions etc.).
  • Providing program oversight in one or more of the following areas: budget and financial management, procurement, training, travel, timekeeping, records management or facility/space management to ensure operational effectiveness.

NOTE: Education cannot be substituted for experience at this grade level.
