This position is being filled using the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) Delegated Direct-Hire Authority and is open to all U.S. citizens. Under this authority, competitive rating, ranking and veterans' preference procedures do not apply. Serve as an expert advisor to the OIRM Systems Operations supervisor and NEH management, on all issues pertaining to information system cybersecurity. Which includes: zero-trust networking, routing, cloud services, system hardening, logging, monitoring, troubleshooting, and user support.
Utilizing cybersecurity frameworks like NIST, ISO/IEC 27001, or CIS Controls.
Manage system patches, mitigate vulnerabilities, and correct flaws identified in POA&Ms.
Manage telework/remote work connectivity through zero-trust management.
Manage zero-trust authentication and access control within a centralized identity platform such as Okta Universal Directory.
Advise on and support cloud-based systems.
Provides expertise on secure cloud architectures, provisions resources, configure settings, and monitors cloud PaaS and IaaS infrastructures such as Azure.
Troubleshoot and mitigate complex disruptive IT events including impacts from cybersecurity incidents.
Resolve hardware/software interface and interoperability problems.
Extracts data and performs analytics to support reporting such as FISMA.

Qualifications

1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 level or equivalent experience.
Specialized experience is experience which is directly related to the line of work of the position to be filled and which has equipped the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position, for example: Plan, design, develop, and integrate secure hybrid (cloud, mobile, on premises) systems; (2) ensuring, certifying, and reporting compliance and security for information systems using expertise in federal government standards/requirements for modern cybersecurity frameworks (zero trust); (3) mitigating complex vulnerabilities through patching, reengineering, deploying new tools, or replacing products; (4) lead troubleshooting and mitigation due to complex disruptive events for on premise, cloud, and mobility enabled networks; (5) expressing information to individuals or groups clearly and effectively considering the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial).
At the GS-12 level Qualified candidates must possess:
