Summary

This position is located at the MWR Auto Skills Center operation at NAS Jacksonville. This activity offers work areas and tools that assist patrons with self-maintenance of vehicles. The customer base of MWR covers active duty military, spouse, dependents, retirees, veterans and civilians who have access to the installation and authorized usage of MWR Programs.

Duties

Help

  • Receives moneys and records sales in Rec-Trac sales system.
  • Responsible for maintaining and securing a change fund that will be monitored by surprise cash counts periodically.
  • Will prepare Daily Activity Reports (DAR's) at the end of each shift and makes cash deposits as instructed by the Cash Handling Standards of Operating Procedures (SOP).
  • Answers incoming calls may be required to provide information about facility, equipment, hours of operation and/or programs offered.
  • Refers patron to proper person for more in-depth information.
  • Makes reservations using epitome system for Vehicle Storage, Auto-Rama and RV Park usage.
  • May utilize the system for equipment rental and/or special events/programs.
  • May be required to maintain a separate log and historical records of transactions occurring in the facility.
  • Performns general housekeeping duties as required and as needed to included policing gounds, sweeping and dusting or work area, emptying trash receptacles and cleaning and restocking restrooms.
  • Will notify supervisory of facility maintenance issues and needed repairs.
  • May assist with supply and equipment requested for replacement if needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • Must meet Federal Employment suitability requirements and successful completion of background investigation. Background investigations are conducted using fingerprint identification and completion of background inquiry forms.
  • Must successfully pass the E-verify employment verification check. Any discrepancies must be resolved as a condition of employment.
  • Must go through a Personal Identity Verification (PIV) process that requires two forms of identification from the Form I-9.
  • May be required to pass pre-employment examinations.
  • Must provide proof of U.S. Citizenship or U.S. National.
  • A valid State driver's license is required to operate motor vehicles.
  • Must have your salary sent to a financial institution of your choice by Direct Deposit/Electronic Funds Transfer.
  • Must reside within a 50 miles radius of 32212 at time of applying.
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, kneel, stand and lift up to 45 lbs.
  • Must have current CPR/First Aide certification or be willing to obtain within 90 days of employment.
  • Must be able to occasionally withstand extreme temperatures.

Qualifications

Specialized experience directly related to the duties described above.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:

  • One or more years of experience working in an automotive facility preferred.
  • Ability to meet and deal with patron base of varied rates, ranks and backgrounds.
  • Must be able to operate in a fast-pace and at times, stressful environment, as incumbent will be the first line of contact with patrons.
  • Must have knowledge about the tools and equipment used in the auto skills center.
  • Must become familiar with and remain aware of emergency procedures (both MWR and Naval Air Station) in the event accidents or severe weather conditions arise.
  • Should be able to answer questions and give directions during extremely busy times.
  • Above average customer service skills are needed to be susscessful at this positions.
