Duties

Help

If selected for this position, you will join a well-respected team that is responsible for providing Program Analyst support in the U.S. Attorney's Office, Southern District of Florida, located in Miami, Florida, focusing in the areas of administrative and case management support duties of the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETF) Program and its initiatives.

Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progress.

Typical work assignments will include:

  • Analyzes management issues and recommends resources necessary to evaluate individual operations and functions.
  • Develops, implements, and manages new or existing programs, policies, and processes.
  • Responsible for performing special analyses for the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETF) Regional Director, executives, and district Program managers to evaluate operations and procedures.
  • Collaborates with Regional personnel, at federal, state and local levels to provide awareness of Program policies, procedures, and necessary deadlines to maximize performance.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: To be considered minimally qualified for this position, you must demonstrate that you have the required specialized experience and/or education for the respective grade level in which you are applying:

To qualify at the GS-07 level, you must possess:

Specialized Experience: At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-05 level in the Federal service performing (obtained in either the public or private sectors) (3) of the (4) duties listed below:

  • Gathering facts from stakeholders, reports or other available sources related to investigations;
  • Devising solutions to problems arising within the organization;
  • Entering and/or retrieving data for reports;
  • Coordinating legal activities with external stakeholders.
OR
I have 1 full year of graduate level education, or a bachelor's degree with Superior Academic Achievement, or a combination of experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience. My percentage of the required education plus my percentage of the required experience equal one hundred percent. (You must provide supporting transcripts)

To qualify at the GS-09 level, you must possess:

Specialized Experience: At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 level in the Federal service performing (obtained in either the public or private sectors) (3) of the (4) duties listed below:
  • Interpreting or presenting relevant findings, conclusions and/or case analyses;
  • Designing and/or conducting program studies to evaluate or develop organizational goals;
  • Utilizing automated database systems to prepare statistical reports;
  • Analyzing facts of cases, and/or researching legal issues, opinions or precedents.
OR
I have a master's or equivalent graduate degree OR two (2) full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree OR I have an LL.B. or J.D., in a directly related field OR a combination of the above-described graduate education and specialized experience. My percentage of the required education plus my percentage of the required experience equal one hundred percent. (You must provide supporting transcripts)


To qualify at the GS-11 level, you must possess:

Specialized Experience: At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 level in the Federal service performing (obtained in either the public or private sectors) (3) of the (4) duties listed below:
  • Recommending changes to a program and/or determining resource allocations.
  • Conducting conferences, seminars or interviews of law enforcement personnel;
  • Developing curriculum, training materials, and/or conducting training;
  • Planning or implementing organizational policies, procedures, or program management activities.
OR
I have a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree (e.g. LL.M) or three (3) full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent degree at an accredited college or university in a field that provided the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work for this position OR. a combination of the above-described graduate education and specialized experience. My percentage of the required education plus my percentage of the required experience equal one hundred percent. (You must provide supporting transcripts)
