Duties

Help
  • Compile detailed cost estimates and write statements of work for construction projects.
  • Apply a vast knowledge of construction/renovation processes and methods associated with contract construction activities for many projects.
  • Interpret and conform established policies, regulatory guides, and accepted construction management practices.
  • Develop and sustain an electrical, plumbing and HVAC and a field service preventive maintenance standard throughout the installation facilities.
  • Forecasts future workload and recommends to the Resident Engineer necessary staff changes to meet future needs.

  • This position requires incumbent to obtain/maintain a valid state issued driver’s license.
  • Incumbent must undergo pre-employment physical exam and annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health, ability, or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
  • This position is covered by the civilian drug abuse testing program. Incumbent is required to sign a DA Form 5019, Condition of Employment for certain civilian positions identified as critical under the Drug Abuse Testing Program.
  • This position requires you to be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance

Qualifications

About the Position: This position reviews and approves all construction materials incorporated into to the projects, serves as the Contracting Officer Representative (COR), completes Construction Statements of Work, and conducts daily Quality Assurance inspections of ongoing construction.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience One year of specialized experience which includes:

  • Review project plans and specifications prior to contract award;
  • Read and interpret engineering and architectural plans for accuracy;
  • Determine workload assignments by mission deadlines; and
  • Investigate construction and technical services at all stages to identify and report problems.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
