Duties

Help

Maintains and reconciles accounts in various subsidiary ledgers pertaining to the balance sheet, sales, other income transactions, accounts payable and general ledger accounts in support of Nonappropriated Fund Instrumentalities (NAFI). Accounts for and reviews for accuracy NAF Consolidated Cost Reports (1876), Central Cashier Control Logs (1877), Genral Ledger Adjustment Forms (GLAF), Disbursement Requests (DR), Fixed Asset (FA) Forms and Prepaid Forms. Identifies, researches and initiates resolution on accounting errors/issues. Verifies adherence to Air Force regulations. Performs a full-range of accounting duties using double-entry accrual accounting methods. Uses a commercial off-the-shelf accounting system. Reviews the balance sheet and the operating statement. Provides assistance to the Base Business Specialists. Performs other related duties as assigned.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

Qualifying Experience:
Experience with double-entry accounting procedures, methods and techniques used in maintaining and analyzing all classes of general ledger accounts in an automated accounting system that encompasses a number of diversified activities. Experience with accounting systems sufficient to trace discrepancies from initiation of the business transaction through expenditure of funds.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA's):
Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:

  1. Knowledge and understanding of regulations, guides, and precedents sufficient to interpret and apply them in a variety of accounting situations.
  2. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
  3. Proficient in Microsoft Excel using basic formulas of adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing.
  4. Experience with Microsoft Word.
