Duties

Help
  • Serves as the Director of Emergency Services at a medium or large multi-mission Military installation.
  • Overseeing programs involving Fire Protection and Prevention, per the Common Levels of Support (CLS) system, and include the following Service Support Programs (SSPs).
  • Performs a wide range of managerial tasks in planning, managing, directing and evaluating law enforcement operations.
  • Represents the garrison for law enforcement and fire protection/prevention law enforcement matters to the surrounding civilian communities to include the local, county and state police and fire departments.
  • Coordinates force protection measures with authorities of the local civilian community to ease traffic congestion and impact upon the community by caused changes to traffic patterns.
  • Works in partnership with the fire and police unions to promote sound labor management relations.

  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience Required: Your resume must describe at least one year of specialized experience which includes: participating in managing emergency services for an organization concerning law enforcement, fire protection and/or physical security programs; preparing a variety emergency services documents such as operating/work schedules, policies, procedures, and reports for a major installation or equivalent; assisting in coordinating emergency services activities with internal and external agencies and providing guidance and advice to organizational leadership on emergency services regulatory requirements. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).

Education
