Duties

Help

Supports multiple levels of leadership and other customers in planning and support of audiovisual presentations consisting of digital, as well as traditional, multimedia components.

Configures, operates and maintains audiovisual, multimedia, video teleconferencing equipment.

Serves as System Designer for a state-of-the-art conference center.

Oversees installation by vendors of all equipment to ensure it meets set objectives and established criteria.

Provides operator training to new production specialists. Provides training to all facilitators, as required, for all phases of the Video Teleconference operation.

Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for Administrative and Management General Schedule Positions.


SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 level (or equivalent in other pay systems) in the federal service in which equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSA's) to perform successfully the duties of the position. Specialized experience is experience which may have been gained while assisting in the planning, directing, organizing, and supporting of multi-media Audio-Visual Presentations/Video Conference system operations.

EDUCATION:
Threefull years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related or Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree, OR LL.M., in a related field. NOTE: YOU MUST SUBMIT COPIES OF YOUR TRANSCRIPTS.

COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100 percent. To combine education and experience, determine the total qualifying experience as a percentage of the experience required for the grade level. Then determine the education as a percentage of the education required for the grade level. Finally, add the two percentages. The total percentage must equal at least 100 percent to qualify an applicant for that grade level. NOTE: YOU MUST SUBMIT A COPY OF YOUR TRANSCRIPT.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:

1. Knowledge of the use and application of specialized multimedia and presentations support equipment, digital signage hardware and software systems to achieve desired results. Effectively manage, monitor and maintain the efficiency of multimedia systems with the ability to set up, diagnose and effect onsite repair of such systems.

2. Knowledge of current video production technologies and audiovisual presentation/production methods, including knowledge of processes, methodologies, personnel requirements, and equipment needs.

3. Knowledge of the operations, products, services, needs, and goals of programs and other organizations serviced, and related customers, functions, resources, and users.

4. Knowledge of specific activities such as safety, customer relations, records management, budgeting, contracting, supply/equipment procurement, contract and vendor services as well as any specialized processes utilized, to correctly determine requirements, costs and timeframes and effectively manage resources and personnel necessary for effective and efficient operation of professional multi-faceted presentation support.

5. Ability to communicate ideas concerning visual media while exercising tact and diplomacy.

6. Knowledge of Air Force policies, procedures, security regulations, and other administrative requirements pertinent to the efficient use and operation of multimedia, Visual Information, and Video Teleconference facilities.


PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.

VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Additional information

Physical Demands The work is primarily sedentary, although there is some walking and carrying of lightweight (up to 50 LBS.) equipment and materials. Location transport, set up and construction of presentations support equipment or other products may also be required.
