Duties

Help

-Evaluate the effectiveness of government programs and operations in regards to integration of OPSEC into joint operations. A broad operational background is key and essential. Incumbent applies operational expertise, and expert technical and analytic skills to projects in support of JIOWC's mission to assist combatant commanders, other joint force commanders, and DOD agencies develop OPSEC strategies supporting program reviews, training, and assessments.

-Provides joint force commanders and staff with threat-based OPSEC vulnerability assessments of command and control (C2) structures, operations, plans, and organizations. Incumbent organizes and leads multidisciplined assessments examining all areas of OPSEC and develops specific actions to correct deficiencies and improve OPSEC posture.

-Integrates essential secrecy and OPSEC principles into the Joint Planning Process (JPP). Incumbent applies expertise in OPSEC planning principles to create and apply concepts to emergent problem sets in order to protect joint operations, activities and investment.

Qualifications

This is a GG-13 position in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). The GG-13 duties for the "Professional" work category are at the "Full Performance" work level and are equivalent to those at the GS-13 level. The selectee's salary will be set within the grade equivalent to a GS/GG grade based on the selectee's qualifications in relation to the job.

In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Your resume must reflect the quality level of experience which demonstrates the possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for successful job performance required for this position. Examples of creditable experience include: Expert Knowledge of advanced management and organizational principles and practices for ensuring the protection of critical information and essential secrets in support of operations, activities and investments, such as vulnerability assessments techniques and procedure, risk analysis and mitigation, mission analysis and planning supporting Operations in the Information Environment, integration of essential secrecy into Globally Integrated Operations in the Information Environment; and a comprehensive knowledge of Joint Strategic Planning System. Note: Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector, or experience gained in another government agency.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Requires wide range of knowledge of Operations Security policies, plans, programs, employment and doctrine extant to integrate and advocate OPSEC requirements and broad knowledge of Information Operations and other information capabilities.
2. In depth knowledge and capability to collaborate with other subject matter experts and develop strategies, concepts, and courses of action to protect operations activities and investments
3. Ability to analyze, verify, and correlate data in order to assess complex situations, develop strategies, and prepare/present concepts and plans to senior officials.
4. High degree of skill in establishing and maintaining effective relationships and building consensus and coalitions; high degree of skill communicating effectively, both orally and in writing in.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT CONT'D:
1. Position is designated special-sensitive and requires eligibility for access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI), other intelligence-related Special Sensitive information, or involvement in Top Secret Special Access Programs (SAP) to fully perform the duties and responsibilities of the position. 2. Drug Testing: This position has been designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Drug Demand Reduction Program. Employee must pass initial and periodic short notice drug testing. Illegal drug use by employees in sensitive positions presents a clear threat to the mission of the Air Force, national security, and public safety.

PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
