Duties

Help

Serves as the Marketing and Publicity branch focal point for collection and dissemination of Force Support Squadron program information. Responsible for answering telephone, voicemail management, filing, record keeping, and supply inventory (when necessary). Conducts briefings, prepares slides and handout materials for presentations. Researches new avenues for sharing information about FSS programs and events and establishes new lines of communication with the untapped resources. Ensures signage and other posted media within FSS activities are compliant with AFPC and FSS leadership guidelines and standards. Conducts all prep work (binding, cutting, folding, etc.) of printed collateral resulting in a finished product that meets the graphic designer's specifications. Helps prepare a variety of products using computer word processing and desktop publishing programs and processes documents involving many different styles and arrangement of materials. Proofs all work orders prior to completion. Responsible for distribution of JBSA magazines to all FSS activities and JBSA partners, BX and Commissary. Acts as the focal point for promotion of current events and customer service. Assists graphic designers in the fulfillment of simple work orders using computer design software. Assists in the development of and the conducting of surveys. Assists Marketing Operations Supervisor in the dissemination of surveys and tallying results Conducts visits or phone calls to FSS activities to obtain information, then edits the information and prepares it in the correct format for submission to the Daily Bulletin (if available), for the magazine and the public affairs insert. Composes briefs and articles for public affairs, using Associated Press guidelines. Attends FSS events to obtain information through interviews and to take pictures. Tracks printer supply usage and prepares reports essential to ordering to meet all ordering deadlines. Collects and compiles information from FSS activities for Master Events Calendar and Master of Hours of Operation and organizes for submission to JBSA Marketing Director. Works special events; publicity, setup and customer service. Arranges and tracks pickup of completed work orders, DVDs and other media created by Marketing. Manages promotional distribution ensuring all materials are distributed to the appropriate location in a timely and accurate manner. Performs both internal and external customer service. Assists with a variety of special events such as Monte Carlo Night, Oktoberfest and Air Show. Acts as government vehicle manager; responsible for maintaining driving logs, ensuring maintenance and upkeep. Performs all other duties assigned.

Qualifying Experience:

Must have the ability to work effectively with managers, public affairs and media personnel and be able to work independently as well as part of a team. Must be able to exercise originality and creativity. Must have experience in office automation software, formats, grammar and spelling. Must be able to demonstrate proficiency in typing.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA's):

Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities, and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. General knowledge of Force Support activities and marketing/advertising principles and practices is desired.
2. Demonstrate intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Publisher).
3. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing using tact and diplomacy to prepare and make public presentations.
4. Ability to speak confidently in front of small and large audiences.
5. Ability to create positive rapport with internal and external customers.
6. Knowledge of work processing techniques.
7. Knowledge of Adobe applications (In-design, Photoshop, etc.) and experience with Associate Press Writing Guidelines is desired.

Education
