Duties

Help
  • You will receive, unload, and process incoming shipments, reporting over, short, or damaged conditions.
  • You will select materials and fill requisitions, work order, or requests for materials, tools, or other items.
  • You will check lists showing stock identification changes to ensure that the proper items are selected and assembled for issue.
  • You will complete and sign shipping and receiving reports.
  • You will count types and quantities of items during inventories or location surveys and maintain tally listings during the count.

  • This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current Forklift Operator license.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal
  • You may be coded as "key" and as such may be required be removed from their military recall status. A signed statement of understanding is required.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You may be subject to random testing.
  • You may be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
  • You must be able to obtain/maintain proper licensing (CDL A, B OR C if required) as well as government operator permit as determined by employing command with HAZMAT certification to transport hazardous material.
  • You will be required to frequently lift and carry weights up to 40 pounds.
  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.

The Screen-out Element for this position is: I have the ability to perform common tasks demonstrated through experience working under close supervision receiving, issuing, handling, storing, and inventorying, supplies, equipment, and materials, in accordance with prescribed regulations; performing inspections of incoming shipments to check for damage; documenting discrepancies; reading shipping and tracking documents; complying with prescribed proper handling and storage procedures; operating materials handling equipment such as pallet jacks and hand trucks.

THIS IS A DIRECT HIRE ANNOUNCEMENT. Section 1109 of the National Defense Authorization Act Fiscal Year 2020 Public Law 116-92 amended Section 9905 of title 5, United States Code (U.S.C.) to streamline and simplify certain Department of Defense civilian Direct Hire Authorities to recruit and appoint qualified candidates directly to certain positions in the competitive service in the Department of Defense.

This position may be subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.

This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program.
