Duties

Help

  • Provides administrative support for the Falcon Club.
  • Uses processing software to produce a variety of documents.
  • May transmit and receive documents, and messages electronically using personal computer or work station that is networked or linked to other computers or workstations throughout the work area organization.
  • Types a variety of material from rough or handwritten draft such as correspondence, forms, reports, messages, and memorandum, associated with organization functions.
  • Performs a variety of general office duties such as receiving telephone calls and visitors, routing and filing correspondence, and maintaining files and/or pertinent publications.
  • Responds to inquiries brought to General Manager by customers, members of the staff, contractors, DOD agencies, and representatives of the private sector.
  • Notifies appropriate staff of the need for information or recommendations and either prepares the responses or follows up to ensure a timely response by others.
  • Prepares presentations using software, such as Power point. Performs complex clerical and administrative duties associated with catering special functions, answering customer questions on catered services, room availability, room fees, and menu prices.
  • Takes catering reservations, arranges appointments for the club manager, and inputs event reservations in catering software.
  • Distributes Banquet Event Orders (BEO) to various club sections; kitchen, banquet, bar, and maintenance to coordinate information with personnel charged with executing event activities.
  • Assist staff during special functions.
  • Reviews the communicator checklists (MICT) and serves as Records Custodian (FARM). Performs other duties as assigned.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Qualifying Experience:

  • Must have progressively responsible experience in clerical or office work, which has provided a comprehensive knowledge of office automation software such as Excel, Power Point, Word or similar software.
  • Experience must have provided the ability to select, arrange, and compose materials to support the duties and responsibilities of the position.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to maintain files are required.
  • Must have basic knowledge of record keeping.
  • Must be able to work independently.
  • Must have strong telephone interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Must be able to read, write, and communicate effectively in English both in person and over the phone is required.
  • Must be able to prepare a variety of written material correctly including using proper formatting, grammar, and spelling.
  • Demonstrated typing skills is highly desirable and knowledge of industry standard catering software (Caterease) is highly desirable.
  • Requires lifting of objects over 20 pounds.
  • This position requires the incumbent to satisfactorily complete the applicable background investigations.

Education

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution.

FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program.
