As a Supervisory Program Specialist you will serve as Deputy Director of the Office of the Executive Secretariat within the Office of the Administrator. Duties

Help
  • As Deputy, support organizational transformation of current and future office functions to better serve Office of the Administrator customers, secure efficiencies in operation, modernize and improve key business processes and infrastructure.
  • As Deputy, develop employee skills to evolve office functions from transactional support to facilitative and consultative. Cultivate succession management options within the office and identify opportunities for cross-training across functions.
  • As Deputy Director, formulate, manage and monitor the office budget and contract tasks. Plan and manage staffing actions needed to maintain staffing complement.
  • As Deputy, provide strategic leadership and guidance, as well as supervisory oversight, to the Office of the Executive Secretariat Executive Operations and Audit Liaison teams.
  • As Executive Secretary, work within the Office of the Administrator to ensure awareness of key commitment dates. Conduct final quality review and concurrence for all clearance packages. Provide informed recommendations on challenging clearances.
  • As Executive Secretary, ensure policies and procedures are in place and met to inform clearance packages, maintain quality and consistency of Agency correspondence, and meet records management responsibilities for the Office of the Administrator.

  • As Executive Council Secretariat, under the direction of the NASA Chief of Staff, plan, negotiate and propose topics, maintaining a balance between decision velocity and readiness.
  • Executive Council Secretariat, ensure decisions are well framed, briefings storyboarded, stakeholders consulted, and briefing packages of high quality. Author and deliver timely, quality minutes and decision memoranda following NASA standards.
  • As Executive Council Secretariat, ensure documented NASA policies and procedures are implemented in all aspects of Council execution. Ensure strict neutrality on topic outcomes is observed when interacting with partners and principals.
  • Perform a full range of supervisory duties which includes assigning and evaluating work; recommending personnel actions; taking disciplinary actions; and identifying training needs and developing employees.

Qualifications

Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.

To qualify for GS-15, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 level:

  • Managing major office functions such as budget, staffing, contract management; resolving issues and implementing responsive solutions during year of execution;
  • Creating long-form narrative writing and conducting critical analysis of written products including but not limited to policy analysis.
  • Directly supporting customers at the executive/senior level organizational of a government agency or large business entity.
