Duties

Help
  • Provide subject matter expertise for integrating space and high-altitude operations into Combatant Command OPLAN and CONPLAN development across all levels of war - strategic, operational, and tactical.
  • Participate in Combatant Command Space and High-Altitude review boards and the development of the SOF-Space-Cyber Triad employment model.
  • Review and analyze strategic documents and prepares and presents information/decision briefings to the G3, G8, and Commander.
  • Provide subject matter expert assessments and advice USASOC leadership regarding current and long-term deliberate planning and exercise support across all space and high-altitude mission areas.
  • Analyze and determine the application and employment of Space and High-Altitude to solve USASOC operational deficiencies.
  • Represent USASOC at meetings, conferences and work- groups addressing a myriad of Space and High-Altitude issues.

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Two year trial/probationary period may be required.
  • In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information.
  • Travel may be required up to 25% of the time.
  • Must pass Organization Personnel Reliability Program that includes a credit check, drug screening and CI polygraph.
  • Must be willing and able to participate in organization operations and training CONUS and OCONUS.
  • May be required to work overtime or irregular hours.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience.

To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as experience:

1. Analyzing or advising on software and hardware design for space and high-altitude models.
2. Researching and conveying information regarding space control and emerging technical requirements. This experience might include representing the Command at various meetings for inter/intra-agency coordination.

Education
