Duties

Help
  • Serve as a budget analyst in the Medical Group's budget office, performing a variety of budget functions involving the formulation, execution, and/or analysis of budgets for substantive programs and support activities.
  • Perform budget formulation work involving preparation of detailed analyses of annual and/or multi-year budget estimates for assigned organizations/programs into a consolidated budget request.
  • Research, compile, and summarize data involving obligations, expenses, and object class/line item information, narrative information, and quantitative budgetary data for use in preparing budget estimates.
  • Perform budget execution and administration work involving the monitoring of obligations incurred and the actual expenditures of a budget with different sources and types of funding in the General Fund Enterprise Business System(GFEBS).
  • Prepare presentations to executive staff to encapsulate economic and financial implications of decisions as we as provide alternative courses of action to executive leadership.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience w which includes performing one or more of the following: monitoring or tracking budgetary obligations or expenditures and reviewing budgetary requirements. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).

OR

Education:
Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as, Accounting, Mathematics, Economics or Finance. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)

OR

Combination of Education and Experience:
A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)

  • This position resides in the Resource Management Flight of the 354th Healthcare Operations Squadron, where you will serve as a strategic advisor and financial expert, overseeing the execution of a $7M budget. You will guide command leadership on resource allocation, develop innovative solutions for limited resources, and collaborate with DHA analysts to meet mission requirements. A robust team of financial experts at DHA will support you with frequent virtual meetings, educational resources, and execution tools. Our goal is to ensure proactive resourcing that facilitates the best medical care for the 354th Fighter Wing.
