Duties

Help

  • Passing on to other workers the instructions received from supervisors and getting work started, e.g., by assigning the immediate tasks to be performed by individual members of the group led.
  • Working along with other workers and setting the pace.
  • Demonstrating proper work methods.
  • Seeing to it that needed plans, materials, and tools are available, and that needed stock is obtained from supply locations.
  • Obtaining needed information or decisions from supervisors on problems that come up during the work.
  • Maintaining current knowledge, and answering questions of other workers on procedures, policies, written instructions, and other directives. Seeing to it that there is enough work to keep everyone in the work crew busy.
  • Leads and trains Housekeeping Aids, WG-2's in assigned unit in nonsupervisory work of the housekeeping occupation. He/she leads the work of Housekeeping Aids in a variety of tasks involving sweeping, dusting, vacuuming, mopping and waxing floors; cleaning surfaces, window interiors, bathroom fixtures, and carpets and sanitation of patient, procedure, operating and waiting rooms and other clinical and public spaces located throughout the facility.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Work Schedule: Full Time, 40 hours a week, Sunday - Thursday 7:30 am - 4:00 pm

Physical Requirements: Duties require constant physical demands such as bending, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, carrying and reaching. Incumbent consistently lifts from zero (0) to fifty (50) pounds. The incumbent must climb ladders to clean overhead equipment and operate heavy duty commercial cleaning equipment that requires eye, hand and body coordination.
Working Conditions: Incumbent normally works in a controlled environment with regulated heat, light and ventilation. He/she is exposed to organic materials such as blood, infectious organisms and disagreeable odors. The incumbent is required to use personal protective equipment (PPE) and/or safety gear.

Note: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities.
