Duties

Help
  • As an Operations Research Analyst, you will perform the following duties which is not an all-inclusive list:
  • Serve as a system analyst team member or an individual analyst.
  • Plan and organize assignments, analyzing assignments to determine individual problems to be considered.
  • Review reports of prior work in the field to determine what available solutions can be used.
  • Participate in the statistical design of qualitative assessments tests, development of independent evaluation plans, snd subsequent analyses for assigned projects.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Tier 1 security clearance throughout the duration of employment.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or work experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. BASIC EDUCATION REQUIREMENT: Successful completion of a bachelor's or higher degree in operations research or successful completion of a bachelor's or higher degree with at least 24 semester hours in a combination of operations research, mathematics, probability, statistics, mathematical logic, science, or subject matter courses requiring substantial competence in college-level mathematics or statistics. At least 3 of the 24 hours must be in calculus. NOTE: Transcripts are required at the time of application.

In addition to meeting the basic education requirement above, you must also meet the specialized experience requirements below:

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service which includes experience in applying analytical techniques to identify/evaluate trends, relationships, and deficiencies to manage training; and also applying/adapting standard approaches to gather, analyze and evaluate data/information concerning complex processes, operations and/or questions.
