Duties

Help

As a Program Analyst (Artificial Intelligence) TERM NTE 2-Years, GS, 0343, 15, your typical work assignments may include the following:

  • Supports Federal-wide efforts to assess agency artificial intelligence (AI) challenges and work proactively to address such challenges through policy creation and implementation.
  • Responsible for establishing and overseeing mechanisms to remove barriers to agencies' use of AI and to manage risks specific to the use of AI, such as discrimination or unsafe decision making.
  • Engages with interagency committees and other coordinating bodies related to AI, as well as overseeing the performance of agencies providing AI guidance and assistance, such as the National Institute for Standards and Technology and the General Services Administration.
  • Reviews both agency-specific and Federal-wide AI policies, procedures, programs, and budgets through detailed qualitative and quantitative analyses and working with relevant leadership to close gaps

Qualifications

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have a minimum of one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility comparable to the next lower grade or comparable pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private sector.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: All applicants must meet the qualification requirements outlined below to be considered minimally qualified for this position. The qualification requirements are in accordance with the OPM Qualification Standards.

You may qualify at the GS-15 level, if you meet the following minimum qualification requirement:One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private sector which includes: 1-Making decisions or providing recommendations relating to Artificial Intelligence that influence policies, projects, or programs, and securing leadership buy in and/or stakeholder consensus; 2-Reviewing and issuing results of analyses of artificial intelligence; and 3-Utilizing AI technology, data and data management to conduct independent research.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service program (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
