Help

  • Perform technical and administrative team lead duties over primarily employees on a regular and recurring basis for 25% or more of the time.
  • Exercise independent judgment in directing and assigning work amongst employees by using determinative factors such as team members' expertise, experience, competence, workload availability, work priorities and team member functional development.
  • Serve as project lead/manager, conducting organizational and process related studies and analysis of organizations, functions, and work processes to improve mission effectiveness, and resource allocation.
  • Represent the organization with a variety of installation and functional area organizations.

Experience

Specialized Experience (for positions above GS-5): Examples of qualifying specialized experience include:

  • Working as a skilled mechanic or maintenance worker, sales or service engineer, or planner or estimator in a technical group dealing with manufacture, utilization, repair, or operation of equipment.
  • Reviewing and applying technical specifications and requirements.
  • Analyzing equipment and forecasting spare parts requirements.
  • Reading and interpreting engineering change orders, equipment requisitions, shop orders, and work orders.
  • Analyzing contract specifications and examining pertinent equipment to determine if specifications are met.
  • Analyzing or supervising maintenance, repair, or production operations to determine methods of improvement.
In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least 1 year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at the next lower broadband NH-2, equivalent to the next lower grade GS-11 or equivalent in other pay systems. Specialized experience is experience in familiarity with team lead activities providing a variety of coordinating, coaching, mentoring, inspiring, motivating, facilitating, consensus building and planning techniques along with guiding and challenging others towards goal accomplishment and being able to adapt leadership styles to a variety of situations; assisted with providing advice on all technical system/equipment issues; recommend tests, equipment modifications, training for users and maintainers, and correction to design deficiencies through evaluation of operational capability of systems/equipment and review of performance data against standards. NOTE: Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Ability to plan, organize, lead functions, mentor and motivate the staff of an organization.
2. Extensive knowledge and skill in applying analytical and evaluative techniques for the identification, consideration, and resolution of issues or problems concerning efficiency and effectiveness of the program and/or strategic sourcing.
3. Master knowledge of overall missions, functions, and organization of the agency or component. Ability to apply the knowledge to evaluate current organizational strategies and performance.
4. Extensive knowledge of organizational concepts, principles, and practices as related to the requirements for performance-based logistics, acquisition., supply maintenance, procurement procedures, manufacturing, strategic sourcing, and other support areas.
5. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, clearly, concisely, and with accuracy, and maintain good working relations with all individuals and organizations.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The work is primarily sedentary. May require some walking, standing, bending, carrying and/or lifting of light items such as paper or books. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work is performed in a typical office setting, requiring the use of normal safety precautions necessary for an office environment. The work area is adequately lighted, heated and ventilated.

PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.

VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Hill Air Force Base provides worldwide engineering and logistics management for the F-16 Fighting Falcon, A-10 Thunderbolt II, and the Minuteman III ICBM, and performs depot maintenance of the F-16, A-10, and C-130 Hercules aircraft. The base is located between Ogden and Salt Lake City. The area is known for year round activities, including skiing, hiking, boating, extreme sports, fishing and hunting, with four distinct seasons, low humidity, and moderate snow fall in the valley.
