Duties

Help
  • Collaborate with team members to respond to comments and inquires made on social media post.
  • Develop digital strategies to launch information campaigns across the Internet, Web sites, and social media outlets.
  • Utilizing social media tools and techniques to reach the Brigade's internal and external audiences.
  • Creates processes to secure a constant flow of relevant social media content.
  • Maintain the organizations social media websites by posting pertinent information on social media pages.
  • Reviewing the performance of assigned Brigade’s social media activities to provide recommendations to Commander.
  • Develops engaging media content to support the Brigade Commander’s efforts to conduct digital recruiting operations.
  • Consolidate statistical data to develop revised social media and marketing strategies for the organization.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. GS-11

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service that demonstrates a practical knowledge of the subject area of the position and of the methods and techniques of instruction, which includes (2) utilizing a variety of social media platforms to create content used to attract a clearly defined audience; (3) presenting data to leadership to keep informed on campaign issues or necessary strategic changes; (4) utilizing multiple analytical tools and/or systems (i.e. Analytics, Tag Manager, HubSpot, or Sprinklr) to analyze customer data.

OR

Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work of the position, such as Marketing, Social Media, Communications, Journalism, and Public Relation. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)

OR

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least GS-11/GS-12 grade level or above in the Federal service which includes(1) developing strategies to manage the marketing and/or social media programs of an assigned organization; (2) utilizing a variety of social media platforms to create content used to attract a clearly defined audience; (3) presenting data to leadership to keep informed on campaign issues or necessary strategic changes; (4) utilizing multiple analytical tools and/or systems (i.e. Analytics, Tag Manager, HubSpot, or Sprinklr) to analyze customer data.

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-9/11).
