Provide administrative and technical support in one or more of the core HR functional areas: Recruitment and Placement, Classification, Staffing, Processing, HR Policy.
Serves as the Pathways Student Program Coordinator and provides technical guidance to managers regarding the Program, which includes Presidential Management Fellows (PMF), Recent Graduates, and Interns, and other student intern programs.
Advise and assist management with respect to placement and employment matters for purpose of achieving maximum utilization of manpower and skills for appointment and position changes.
Provide a full range of human resources service to NHTSA management and employees on a recurring basis and manage and operate all support actions that contribute to that purpose.
The ideal candidate is a highly qualified candidate who is detail-oriented professional with experience in the following Human Resources disciplines, (Recruitment and Staffing, Classification, and the Pathways Student Program). Must have strong communication, consulting skills who can jump right in to work on projects and task while meeting tight deadlines that will develop them into a knowledgeable Human Resources Specialist.

Qualifications
To meet the minimum qualifications for this position, you must meet the specialized experience qualifications for the grade at which you are requesting consideration.
To qualify for the Grade 12, you must have at least one year of experience equal or equivalent to the GS-11 it must include:
Experience independently providing Human Resources services (i.e., Recruitment and Placement, Classification, Staffing, Processing, Pathways Student Program, HR Policy, HR Systems) for an organization.
Experience applying a range of staffing and classification theories, principles, methods, and techniques.
Experience advising management in identifying, attracting, and retaining a high-quality and diverse workforce.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
Knowledge of personnel regulations, rules and policies relating to human resources qualification standards and processes.
Ability to provide personnel services required by specialized programs.
Ability to set priorities, establish and meet deadlines and perform in accordance with policies and procedures all while providing exceptional customer service.
Ability to communicate effectively.
