Duties

Help
  • Coordinate the work with Contractors' personnel and representatives of the using service to assure timely and satisfactory accomplishment of all contracts.
  • Analyzes problems and review and interprets the requirement of plans and specifications for Contractor representatives and other interested persons.
  • Assures that materials incorporated into the construction work are in compliance with plans and specifications and approved shop drawings, and that items requiring lab testing are tested before use on the project
  • Exercises surveillance to assure the Contractor is conducting quality control operations to produce work in conformance with plans and specifications.
  • Provides daily surveillance of Contractor Quality Control (QC) system to assure that is working effectively, in that required quality tests are made and appropriately reported in a timely manner.
  • Confers with Contractor's representatives on matters pertaining to interpretation of plans and specifications.
  • Checks or directs the checking of quantities submitted by Contractors to verify payment estimates submitted periodically.
  • Inspects safety precautions exercised by Contractors and suggests remedial measures, as required.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:
Have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service which includes 1) Conducting contract administration, management, and oversight of hydropower construction to ensure compliance with contracts 2. Recommending changes to construction plans/specifications to correct discrepancies.
