Incumbent teaches and presents in the museum and in community spaces, using appropriate methodologies, managing group dynamics, and engaging participants.
The incumbent is responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating programs for multigenerational audiences. This includes developing art making workshops, experiences, performances, and demonstrations for adults and families, as well as coordinating aspects of large-scale after-hours events and festivals.
Knowledge of art history and art education, as well as teaching experience with a wide variety of ages and abilities is key.

Candidates must possess at least one year of specialized experience, equivalent in responsibility to the federal NF-09 level, planning and implementing education programs in an art museum for a multi generational audience.

This vacancy utilizes a multiple hurdle assessment process to determine the qualifications of applicants. The first hurdle consists of applicants completing an online occupational questionnaire related to the major duties and competencies of the position. The second hurdle consists of you submitting a portfolio that shows samples of your writing, editorial, and overall publishing experience.

Other types of experience may also be qualifying if appropriate to the position to be filled.
Specialized Experience (for positions at GS-5 and above): Experience related to the operation or management of a museum or similar collection of valuable objects. Examples of qualifying specialized experience include collections management, registration, cataloging, research, preservation, restoration, or conservation of collections of museum material, or other experience related to the position to be filled. Most positions require a particular subject-matter specialization, e.g., aeronautics, anthropology, art, geology, history, natural science, technology, biology, or zoology.
