Summary
You will serve as a Wood Worker of NAVSUP FLEET LOGISTICS CENTER NORFOLK.

You will construct and repair supply, shipping, and storage containers of various sizes.
You will cut boards or sheets of wood into specific lengths.
You will use power tools and machines such as nailing machines, banding and strapping devices, power saws, drills, drill presses, preset table and radial straws.
You will pack and repack items using accepted packing containers, materials, devices, methods and techniques.
You will custom pack various items that cannot be fitted into containers of standard size.
Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

The Screen-out Element for this position is: the ability to perform the duties of a WG-06 Woodworker as demonstrated by experience working under close supervision constructing and/or repairing standardized shipping and storage items such as boxes, small crates, pallets, and storage bins using wood and wood substitutes; cutting boards and sheets of wood to specified lengths; Cutting, fitting, joining, and/or installing wooden parts and items; fastening by banding, bolting, and/or screwing; using hand tools, and handheld and/or stationary power tools common to woodworking; using shop math to measure and calculate length, width, and thickness in fractions of inches; using squares to align corners and joints.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social).
