Duties

Help
  • You will provide program management, technical management, and risk management support to the designated program office.
  • You will plan the management and acquisition strategy for assigned projects/programs within cost, schedule and performance baselines.
  • You will direct the preparation of documents, specifications, requirements, criteria, and standards, which define needs, and parameters of the program.
  • You will determine resource needs and allocation of resources (funding, manpower, facilities, etc.) for life-cycle management of the assigned program.
  • You will analyze all changes that have an impact on the acquisition and develop or directs development of responsive and effective changes in plans and strategies.

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate one year of specialized experience equivalent to the DA-04 pay band (or equivalent) in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Utilizing a wide range of technical and business systems, processes, and practices used to manage weapon systems acquisition; 2) Reviewing, analyzing, and implementing higher level procurement policies; 3) Managing project/program requirements, objectives and metrics, and resolving conflicts among schedules, funding, and resources; 4) Identifying opportunities to incorporate process improvements and best practices utilizing customer feedback, internal and external audits, self-assessment, and lessons learned activities; 5) Advising management and colleagues on difficult problems, conducting special studies, proposing options and alternatives, and representing a command.
