Provides technician support by performing a wide variety of direct services to the public: registers patrons, charges/discharges materials, and assists with interlibrary loans and reserves, shelves library materials, programs activities.
Assists customers in locating materials; and/or provides technical services support in a variety of functions: basic/copy cataloging, ordering/receiving/processing and de-acquisitioning of library materials.
Assists in maintaining accountability records and in performing shelf inventories. Performs simple maintenance on the library's automated systems.
Incumbent may perform physical exertion such as long periods of standing, bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, reaching, pushing of loaded trucks; and recurring lifting of heavy items such as boxes of books or journals.
Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required.
Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, para. 2. Childcare background check is required.
A one-year probationary period may be required.
This position may require regular lifting up to 20 pounds and occasionally and carrying up to 40 pounds.
This is a rotating shift schedule which may include evenings weekends and holidays.
Qualifications
One year of specialized experience at the next lower grade
Or Two years of education above high school
Or A combination of specialized experience and education that equates to 100% of the qualification requirements.
HIGHLY QUALIFYING CRITERIA:
1. At least one year experience working in early childhood education, elementary/secondary education, library child and youth services, or similar related field that equip candidate with knowledge of children's and young adult literature, early literacy and STEM subjects, and children's/family programming.
2. Associate or bachelor's Degree, Professional Certificate, or significant advanced coursework beyond a high school diploma in early childhood, elementary, secondary, or special education, child development, library and information.
Qualifications must be clearly verifiable in your resume. Government positions must include pay plan, series, grade, to and from dates, and government agency/department. (All qualification requirements must include experience performing duties equivalent in scope and complexity to the next lower grade level.)

Pay-Band (NF or CY) Allowances and Differentials
This is a pay-banded position.
Sunday premium pay may be authorized by the Garrison Commander. If authorized, only regular (full-time, part-time, limited tenure and seasonal) employees may be paid Sunday premium pay. When authorized, Sunday premium will be paid at the rate of 25% of the basic rate for all hours of non-overtime, when any part of the scheduled tour of duty is performed on Sunday (to a maximum of 8 hours per Sunday). Night differential may be authorized by the Garrison Commander. When authorized, night differential will be paid at the rate of 10% basic rate for hours of non-overtime work performed between 1800-0600.
Incentives and Bonuses
Incentives will not be paid.
Foreign Overseas Allowances
Foreign overseas allowances, cost of living (COLA), and differentials will not be paid, contingent upon eligibility.
