Specialized Experience for GS-06: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Arranging historical materials in accordance with established policies and/or procedures; AND 2) Performing tasks related to the description and/or presentation of historical materials. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).

Education: A half year (i.e., 9 semester hours) of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as Archival studies, Library, or History.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 9. Add the two percentages.
Specialized Experience for GS-07: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Arranging historical materials in accordance with established policies and/or procedures; 2) Performing tasks related to the description and/or presentation of historical materials; AND 3) Completing actions to support preservation and/or conservation of historical materials. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).

Education: One full year (i.e., 18 semester hours) of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as Archival studies, Library, or History.
