Duties

Help
  • You will provide technical assistance in the performance of Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) discrimination complaint processing.
  • You will explain the complaint process in detail, including the scope and purpose of the law.
  • You will gather factual and statistical information for preparation of EEO reports.
  • You will perform compliance reviews and summarize statistical data in chart and narrative form.
  • You will coordinate Fact-Finding Conferences and Investigations.
  • You will utilize a variety of personal computer software, develop and maintain automated records, correspondence and presentation materials for the department.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

To qualify for the EQUAL OPPORTUNITY ASSISTANT, GS-0361-07 position, your resume must demonstrate at least one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:

  • Experience communicating with a diverse group of employees orally and in writing.
  • Experience providing administrative assistance regarding processing procedures and requirements-in the EEO discrimination complaint program.
  • Experience reviewing and reading various files and other documentary evidence.
  • Experience obtaining and summarizing relevant and factual information as needed to assist staff personnel.
  • Experience gathering factual and statistical information in preparation of EEO reports.
  • Experience reviewing case histories to determine if patterns of concern exist.
  • Experience collaborating with all assigned specialists who coordinate and determine necessary actions once found.
  • Experience with and knowledge of civilian personnel/EEO system, terminology, processes, land associated requirements, rules, procedures, and functions.
