Serve as a food service worker performing a variety of non-supervisory duties, where the primary duty is in food service, food preparation and cleaning.

This position has been designated "Mission Essential". Incumbent will be required to insure continuity of Tripler Army Medical Center’s operations during ALL hazards emergency situations.
In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations (natural or man-made disaster) the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.
This position works on an alternate work schedule. The incumbent will be assigned to rotating shifts between 0530-1400 and 1100-1930 hours, seven days a week, to include evenings, holidays, weekends, and early and late shifts.
This position may require overtime work.
This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is subject to annual vaccination.

Physical Efforts: Work involves moderate physical effort. Frequently lifts or moves objects weighing up to 50 pounds, e.g., lifting individual dishes or trays in serving or cleaning tables; lifting trays or clean dishes. Lifts filled milk containers weighing up to 55 pounds to heights of three (3) feet. Is constantly standing and walking.
Working Conditions: The work is performed in kitchen and dining areas. Steam and heat from cooking and dishwashing equipment often cause uncomfortably high temperatures and humidity. The work area is well lighted, but usually noisy from food service activities and there is a danger of slipping on floors where food or beverages have been dropped. Food service workers are regularly exposed to hot liquids, sharp cutting blades, hot working surfaces, and extreme temperature changes when entering walk-in refrigerators or freezing units. Subject to prolonged periods of standing. Must abide by personal hygiene standards and safe work procedures such as wearing a hairnet or hat and a clean uniform daily.
