Help

Performs a wide range of skilled electrician duties associated with high voltage electrical equipment, controls, fixtures, equipment and primary electrical distribution systems found in hydroelectric powerplants, water storage and diversion dams, pumping plants and electrical features associated facilities, buildings and auxiliary equipment.

-Works on or around high voltage substations, intake gates, unattended switchyards, pumping plants, trashrack/screens, hydroelectric generating stations, radio repeater sites, irrigation and flood control devices such as radial gates.
-Installs maintains, repairs, electrical assemblage, troubleshoots, and test new and existing electrical lines, circuits, systems, fixtures, controls and equipment of electric powerplants and primary electrical distribution systems.
-Connects Programmable Logic Control, solid state devices, and Sonic Liquid level devices. Connects and services power transformers, distribution transformers, instrument transformers, switches, switchboards, meters, relays, cranes, elevators,
power circuit breakers and racks breakers.
-Plans and lays out routing, placement, type size gauge, balance, load, continuity, and proper and safe operation of electrical lines, circuits, systems, equipment and controls. Identifies need for and plans the installation of distribution panels, boxes,
circuits, fittings, connections and controls.
-Installs wiring, conduit, fixtures, transformers, and other electrical lines, circuits, systems, equipment, switchboards and controls using drawings (e.g., wiring, schematic, ladder logic) and assigned work orders, and manufacturer's instructions.
-Performs infrared (IR) thermography to scan and record images of low voltage equipment such as circuit breakers, batteries, etc.
-Removes and installs new or repaired stator and field coils; wedges, ties, and tapes coils, and connections; silver braze welds stator and field connections. Removes and repairs stator irons.
-Performs asbestos abatement associated with electrical and related equipment. Applies coatings as needed for electrical insulation, etc.
-Operates a motor vehicle. May operate overhead and gantry cranes forklift, bucket trucks, boats, manlifts and may rig loads.

A physical exam may not be required if a comparable agency approved examination was performed within the last 12 months. The cost of the exam will be reimbursed by the agency.
Periodic and regular recurring safety and health medical examinations are required.

Category rating and selection procedures will be used to evaluate applications from this announcement.
