About the Position:The mission of the Corpus Christi Army Depot is to overhaul, repair, modify, retrofit, test and modernize helicopters, engines and components for all services and foreign military customers. Duties

Help
  • Pass on to other workers instructions received from supervisor and starts work.
  • Insure that needed plans, blueprints, material, and tools are available, and that needed stock is obtained from supply locations.
  • Work along with other workers, setting the pace.
  • Provide Examine and Evaluate (E/E) and repairs on multiple type of aircraft components/assemblies and aircraft engine components.

  • Must be willing to undergo a physical examination initially, and annually thereafter.

  • Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs.
  • This position may be subject to a one-year probationary period.
  • Must be willing to travel on Temporary Duty (TDY) up to 5% of the time.
  • Must be willing to wear personal protective equipment.

However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of an Sheet Metal Worker Leader without more than normal supervision. Check others work for compliance with supervisor's instructions, assure safety rules are followed, and repair aircraft components using various types of tools. - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating.

  • Ability to Interpret Instructions, Specifications, etc. (Includes Blueprint Reading)
  • Ability to Lead or Supervise
  • Ability to Use Hand Tools, Power Tools, etc., for Metal Work
  • Dexterity (Assembly, Disassembly, Reassembly, etc.)
  • Knowledge of Equipment, Structure, Materials, etc. (Includes Constructing, Repair, and Forging)
  • Layout and Pattern Development (Includes Geometric Projection and Triangulation)
  • Physical Effort: Lifts parts weighing up to 35 pounds without assistance, and over 35 pounds with assistance from another worker or weight handling equipment. Bench work and prolonged standing.
  • Working Conditions: Works inside shop. Must wear safety glasses, shoes and gloves. Exposed to noise, dirt, grease, heat, and fumes. Danger to cuts and bruises from handling metal parts. Working conditions have been considered in the evaluation of this position.
