Duties

Help

  • Uses a computer graphics program (Corel Draw) to engrave lettering and ornamental designs on metal, plastic, glass, acrylic, wood, etc. pieces such as nameplates, trophies, etc ,, according to sketches, diagrams, photographs, or sample work pieces provided by customer and previous orders.
  • Provide embroidery work on projects brought in by customers.
  • Uses power and manual tools and devices that typically involve continuous physical effort and extended periods of bending, standing, and stooping while assisting customers.
  • Assists patrons by demonstrating engraving techniques, including use and safety practices of shop equipment.
  • Selects, issues, and receives hand tools used by patrons.
  • Uses creativity to come up with new/ innovated designs and project ideas.
  • Conducts inventory, ensures accurate and current pricing, notifies supervisor if discrepancies are found.
  • Stocks shelves and regularly displays current specials for customers.
  • Submits written requests for all stock and supplies needed.
  • Keeps detailed records of orders and product used.
  • Cleans equipment, work area, and facility throughout the day to ensure a safe working environment for employees and customers.
  • Operates cash register and credit card machine.
  • Accepts payment from customers and gives correct change.
  • May be required to drive a government vehicle (GOV).
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • May be required to work nights, weekends, and family days.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Qualifying Experience:

  • Must possess Photoshop experience.
  • Corel Draw experience strongly desired.
  • Embroidery experience preferred.
  • Must have experience and basic knowledge of engraving techniques, materials, and processes; skill in use of a variety of hand and power tools such as drills and hammers desired; skill in basic layout procedures for repetitive assignments desired.
  • Must be able to lift and carry items weighing up to 40 pounds and frequently lift and move heavier items with the assistance of other workers.
  • Must have ability to communicate both orally and in writing.
  • Must possess skill in dealing with the public.
  • Must be able to read and follow simple and specific written and/or oral instructions involving duties with several distinct tasks or steps.
  • Must be able to calculate lengths, widths, and weights.
  • Able to actively bend, stoop, stand, reach, and work in awkward positions.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license.
  • Must be able to satisfactorily complete a pre-employment physical and a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACl).

Education
