Help
  • Responsible for the analysis, development, documentation, and evaluation of complex process and system requirements for financial management.
  • Coordinate responses to audit documentation requests by serving as liaison between the auditor and Finance POCs and/or by utilizing systems to obtain evidential matter.
  • Ensures that enterprise-wide processes and procedures, as well as documented business rules, are adhered to, and captures instances in which end users encounter problems.
  • Through process analysis and coordination with POCs in various organizations (both within and external to Finance), document and recommend changes to processes to improve auditability.

Qualifications

To qualify for a Financial Systems Analyst, your resume and supporting documentation must support:

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To qualify at the GS-12 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes:

  • Interpreting financial management guidelines and procedures.
  • Identifying problem areas in financial management processes.
  • Skill in using SAP-based financial systems, data analytics tools, and technology solutions to query, extract and analyze data.
  • Skill in writing documentation describing processes of data query/input/extraction from a financial management system.
  • Reviewing evidential matter to assess compliance with established policies and procedures.
  • Experience gathering data to respond to audit requests or assisting management with process assessment.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Education

Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
