Duties

Help

  • Performs rough carpentry, builds concrete forms, fences, and partitions.
  • Maintains grounds including fence and gate installation and repair, performs road maintenance, weed and pest control, and landscaping such as laying sod, mowing, edging, leaf blowing, trimming, irrigating, and maintaining and repairing sprinkler systems.
  • Mixes, pours, and rough finishes concrete, places and patches concrete.
  • Performs minor plumbing, pipe installation and repair, and sewer repair associated with existing irrigation systems and domestic water systems.
  • Uses metal cutting and welding equipment for non-structural and non-load bearing applications only.
  • Prepares and primes surfaces for coating. Uses premixed materials and basic brushing and spraying techniques to paint surfaces such as curbs, fences, and other surfaces associated with typical maintenance worker duties.
  • Sets up, assembles, and disassembles furniture, shelving, and products.
  • Performs earth excavation and backfill.
  • Operates mobile power equipment such as: wheeled tractors, compact tractors with attachments, crawler tractors (D4 and under) where line and grade are not required, front-end loaders (2-yard capacity and under). Operatescommercial size lawn mowers, motor vehicles, 2-axle dump trucks, water trucks, forklifts, and boats.
  • Operates jackhammers and other demolition tools (weighing up to 50 pounds).
  • Uses common hand and power tools necessary to accomplish duties of the position.
  • Cleans and de-greases equipment related classification of position.
  • Follows safe work practices and Hazardous Energy Control Program.

You must be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. National.
You must be suitable for federal employment, determined by a background investigation.

You must maintain a valid State Driver's License at all times as the position requires operation of government vehicles on government and public roads. Failure to maintain a valid State Driver's License at all times will result in removal from the position.

A physical exam may not be required if a comparable agency approved examination was performed within the last 12 months. The cost of the exam will be reimbursed by the agency.
You may be required to work ovedrtime.
