Summary

We are currently recruiting for Peace Corps AmeriCorps Volunteers to work as Program Analyst for the Office of the Chief Financial Officer (OCFO), Office of Analytics Performance and Improvement  serving as a trainee planning and carrying out analytical and evaluative assignments and project in support of administrative and program activities.

Location of position: Duty station will be determined upon selection as described in the "Duties" section of this vacancy

Help

This position has job functions that must be executed within a specific duty location. The official duty station is a federal facility, leased space, or an alternative worksite (typically the employee’s home). Positions include routine telework and remote work arrangements that are geographically specific to: Washington DC, Kansas City MO, Ft. Worth TX, Philadelphia PA or Denver CO.
As a Program Analyst (Data Analytics), you will identify, analyze, and make recommendations to resolve conventional issues and problems and participate in assigned portions of evaluations and studies of a broader scope and operating level.  Major duties may consist of: 
  • Collecting data that assist in the efforts to improve program operations, efficiency, and analysis. Convey finding to leadership through the creation and presentation of professional documents.
  • Apply analytical assistance to the planning, design, and implementation of complex information analysis with a focus on developing strategic insights to drive decision making.
  • Translate concepts, findings, and limitations into concise plain language.  Assisting in researching and designing presentation and interpretations of analytical outputs while working with a team to develop data products and definitions.
  • Conduct observational analyses using software and/or programming languages to explore/group data, test hypotheses, predict outcomes and inform decisions. Transform, combine, and clean data in preparation for analysis
  • Presents the results of quantitative analyses to non-technical audiences.
  • May assist in the development of procurement support materials such as; acquisition plans, procurement strategies, cost estimates, statements of work, and schedules of deliverables.
  • May assist in the monitoring of contractor performance; and may assist in resolving problems. May assist in establishing and maintaining tracking systems and records for grant and contract activities in the
    program.

Please Note- The salary listed in this announcement is based on the Kansas City MO locality pay scale, if the position is filled in another locality pay area, the corresponding pay table would be used. The locality pay for each geographic area: 2024 OPM General Schedule Pay Tables.


GS-9 level - The GS-09 salary range starts at $60,905.00 per year .  Generally, first time appointees to Federal civilian service have their salary set at the beginning rate of the grade for which they are selected; unless prior approval has been received to adjust the salary based on superior qualifications of the applicant. Salary will be based upon location where your are selected. 


Specialized Experience : Applicants must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-7 level in the Federal service. Specialized experience is experience in collecting and analyzing data that assists in the efforts to improve program operations and may include:

  • assisting with conducting observational analyses utilizing software and/or programming languages to explore/group data and/or test hypotheses to inform decisions;
  • assisting in the planning, designing and implementation of complex information analysis in order to help drive decision making;
  • assisting senior analysts with presenting the results of quantitative analyses to non-technical audiences;
  • and working on cross-functional teams.

OR

A master’s degree or equivalent graduate degree OR have completed two full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., if related.

OR

A combination of graduate level education and appropriate experience that together meet the qualification requirements of this position.
