AREA OF CONSIDERATION: Applicants have to be US citizens who are authorized command-sponsored dependents of civilian or military personnel stationed with official Government Orders at US NAS Sigonella, Italy. ACTIVE DUTY MEMBERS are eligible to apply for flexible positions and, if selected, work during their off-duty hours as long as they obtain their Command's written authorization.

The incumbent is required to perform the following duties:

  • Open and close the Center and be responsible for its overall cleanliness and order.
  • Perform minor maintenance on shop equipment in their custody. Determine the need and prepare orders for repair and maintenance of shop tools and equipment as required.
  • Determine the need for and report requirement to the manager to order materials and supplies including all items necessary to maintain and properly run programs/activities as assigned by the Auto Skills Center manager.
  • Collect fees from patrons and record information on Daily Activity Reports (DAR's). Turn in cash and financial receipts as required.
  • Instruct and assist patrons in the use of tools and equipment. Oversee their work to ensure compliance with safety regulations and avoid misuse of equipment. Make sure that patrons clean up their work areas and return tools and unused material.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

  • Must satisfactorily complete a background investigation (NACI).
  • Will be required to obtain Emergency First Responder or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation certificate, Cash Handling, and Customer Service Training within the first 90 days of employment.
  • Work schedule is subject to change and may include working mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays and rotating shifts.
  • Male candidates born after December 31, 1959, and at least 18 years of age, are required to certify that they have registered with the Selective Service System (Attach proof of registration).
  • Civilian candidates must be in possession of No-Fee government passport, Italian mission visa, Sponsor's Orders or Command-sponsorship authorization, and Sojourner's permit or application letter.
  • Military personnel, if selected, must provide PCS Orders and written authorization from their command to work during off-duty hours.
  • APPLICANTS MUST BE AT LEAST 18 YEARS OLD.

Qualifications

Qualification Requirements: Three (3) months of general experience OR high school graduation (or GED/equivalent).

General Experience: any type of work that demonstrates the applicant's ability to perform the work of the position.

Education

High school graduation (or GED/equivalent).
