Duties

Help
  • You will perform all maintenance functions required for all equipment and weapons systems processed through the Marine Depot Maintenance Command.
  • You will plan, schedule, observe, and monitor ongoing production-oriented work on a daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual basis or direct assignments of similar duration.
  • You will take all actions required to ensure the execution and attainment of production schedules assigned coordinate with production control meet schedules and goals.
  • You will take all actions required to ensure work is completed within estimated budget of hours and materials and that all workmanship and products meet requirements.
  • You will plan work to be accomplished by subordinates, set and adjust short term priorities, and prepare schedules for completion of work.
  • You will work closely with the Engineering Department Environmental Office to ensure that area of responsibility is in compliance with State and Federal Environmental regulations.
  • You will work closely with Maintenance Command Security officer to ensure that all MCA procedures for security and accountability of ordinance materials are enforced.

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final SECRET security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal
  • This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
  • You may be recalled to duty.
  • You will be required to maintain certification as a Certified Product Inspector (CPI) The CPI certification is required to perform various types of product and workmanship inspections.
  • This is a designated drug testing position. Employee is subject to random drug testing, a criminal background check, Arms, Ammunition and Explosive screening and Qualification to possess Firearms or Ammunition.
  • This position requires a State Criminal History Repository (SCHR) check to be completed on any person selected for this position. You must be willing and able to submit to a SCHR check.
  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • Temporary promotions may be extended up to 5 years at the discretion of management and in accordance with applicable regulations
  • Temporary actions taken under this announcement may be made permanent without further competition.

The Screen-out Element for this position is: ABILITY TO SUPERVISE: disassembly, inspection, repair, rebuild and modification of all types of infantry weapons and related equipment to ensure serviceability and optimum performance AND demonstrating and teaching repair procedures.
