This position serves as a Program Analyst in the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Office of National Engagement and Regional Administration (ARA), Great Lakes Region. This position reports directly to the Supervisory Senior Advisor. The position serves as the regional point of contact (POC) for external outreach and relations with Congress, the aviation community, and the public; and supports corporate leadership and horizontal integration; organizational business planning; quality management; and various special projects associated with the ARA organization.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provides staff support to the Regional Administrator (RA) and Deputy Regional Administrator (DRA) in dealings with Congressional officials and staff, representatives of foreign governments, aviation community, industry officials, the media, and the public on a variety of aviation related matters.
  • Prepares, assembles and edits responses to inquiries from Congressional staff, aviation organizations, and the general public. Prepares and maintains presentations, publications, speeches, articles, and similar information.
  • Participates in organizational performance and business planning. Develops, implements, tracks, and manages the Regional Business Plan and regional supplements to it.
  • Advises and consults on FAA Strategic and ARA regional goals to develop business plans and provides regional input on future plans and efforts related to their execution.
  • Tracks and reports regional accomplishments related to implementation of the regional business plans.
  • Collaborates and works closely with the Senior Advisor and other staff on similar work products and requests to accomplish program objectives, additionally provides backup support as needed.
  • Participates or facilitates management groups in support of leadership, horizontal integration, or special projects.
  • Ensures prompt response and appropriate level of follow-through.
  • Serves as quality management representative for their designated office and ensures that the processes are in conformance and up-to-date with ARA process improvement standards.
  • Works in a team environment to ensure the maintenance of quality management system certification through audits and continuous improvement. May serve as auditor in accordance with QMS standards.

Qualifications

To qualify for this position, you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to FV-H, FG/GS-12 in the Federal Service. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position.

Specialized experience includes experience to analyze and interpret an organization’s policies and operational programs. Experience translating organizational program goals and objectives into specific actions or initiatives and implementing them. Experience representing an organization to internal and external stakeholders to include but not limited to management and staff, elected officials and staff, and/or the public. Experience preparing presentations, letters, speeches, publications, and/or other deliverables using software to include Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint.
